Although our district has participated in Rotary Friendship Exchanges for several years, many of our members are unaware of what they are or how to get involved.
A self-funded international exchange opportunity for Rotary members and partners to discover diverse perspectives and establish international service partners, RFEs are a great way to travel, to learn how others live, make lifelong friends, discover cultures and communities in a unique way all while enjoying Rotary Fellowship while being hosted in homes of Rotarians.

The RFEs program is one of Rotary International's nine structured programs to help clubs and districts achieve service goals in their communities and communities abroad while fostering fellowship and goodwill between countries.

Its goals are to:

  1. Advance international understanding and peace through visits across borders.
  2. Promote interclub relationships, fellowships and service projects.
Our district is participating in the several reciprocal exchanges over the next year.

  • A group from District 1420 – Finland and Estonia -will be visiting us in September and our outbound team will travel there in the fall of 2018
  • District 6990 – Florida & Grand Bahamas - will visit in September and we will visit them in January or February 2018
  • District 5020 – Vancouver Island & Washington state –will visit in October and we will exchange with them in May 2018.
  • Potential future exchanges are being discussed with D9370 (South Africa) and D3310 (Singapore & Malaysia)
Your committee is willing to investigate and plan other exchanges as interest in the program grows

A call for participants for these outbound teams will be made soon. In the meantime, should you be interested in any of these outbound exchanges or wish to get involved with the planning of the inbound itineraries, please contact PDG Tom McCaughey at dgtom7820@gmail.com  or 709-682-7259
