Programs for Young Leaders – April 2026
Rotary District 7815 is gearing up for a busy spring of youth engagement. The Outbound Orientation will be held at Mount Allison University (April 30–May 2), followed by RYLA in St. John’s (May 8–9) and Truro (May 15–16). The UNITE FOR GOOD TIMES District Conference wraps up the season May 29–31. Congratulations to the Interact Photo Contest winners: Riverview Rural HS (Sydney), C.P. Allen HS (Sackville), and Memorial HS (North Sydney), and thank you to our volunteer judges. RYLA registration closes April 26—clubs are encouraged to sponsor a youth! Youth speakers from the HIP “Youth to Youth” program are also available to share their experiences. We’re looking for members to support Youth Programs at the District level—now and for 2027. Get involved and help make a difference!

We announced the winners of our Photo Contest.
In 1st place Riverview Rural HS in Sydney, 2nd place C P Allen HS in Sackville NS and 3rd place Memorial HS in North Sydney NS.
We also thank our Judges who spent many hours reviewing the entries Daphane Dumont of PEI, Jamie Goodwin of NS, Susan Cassidy of NB and Geoff Goodyear of NL.
The info on RYLA was also distributed to Interact Clubs so Interactors or any students can hopefully plan on attending in May in Truro NS or in ST. Johns NL.

HIP - Honoring Indigenous Peoples
Our representatives from HIP Y to Y have returned home and are available to share the messages learned. If you would like a Youth Speaker who attended this year’s event, reach out! Here are a few links to media coverage about the event!
Looking for members for our District Committee in 2027. Members from all provinces are needed.
Please reach out to Jane Simmons at jsimmons@iohs.ca or 709-749-8849 if you wish to get involved to support this program in the future.
More representatives from across our District will help get the word out, particularly to youth who have less opportunities to participate.

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards
RYLA 2026 for the Maritimes will be in Truro, NS May 15-16, 2026 and St. John’s NL May 8-9, 2026. Registration Deadline for both events is April 26, 2026.
Consider sponsoring a youth to participate in one of these events!
