After 54 years as a member of the Rotary Club of Westville, PDG Reg takes a bow.

Image At the regular meeting of the Rotary Club of Westville on Ocf 27 2011, PDG Dr. Reg Gunn 88-89 resigned as a member and took his leave of the club. Reg and Phyllis are moving to Truro to relax and learn what life is like after Rotary.

Reg joined the Westville club on Oct 3 1957 and was elected to be District Governor for the 1988-89 Rotary year. He was honoured as a Paul Harris fellow in 1988 and Phyllis joined the PHF ranks in 1989.

During his DG year, Reg chartered the following 4 Rotary Clubs:

Rotary Club of Avalon Northeast

Rotary Club of Halifax Harbourside

Rotary Club of Happy Valley - Goose Bay

Rotary Club of Saint Pierre & Miquelon.

Asked what kept him in Rotary for so long, Reg responded that it was the people he met in the club and also the Polio Plus initiative that he is hoping to see the end of soon.

Reg will certainly be missed by the Rotarians in Pictou County but I am certain that he will show up at the odd meeting and also make an appearance at the Rotary Club of Truro now and then.

When Rotary is on your blood you cannot get too far away from it.

Best wishes to PDG Reg Gunn and Phyllis.
