Registration for the 2017 District Conference is Now Open !

The 2017 District Conference Committee has launched the new Conference Website, and is ready to begin welcoming registrations from District and Club Representatives, and from individual Rotarians, Youth and Partners.  Just click HERE to go to the Conference Website page 7820conference.com

This year’s Conference will take place in the Annapolis Valley, at the Old Orchard Inn and Conference Centre in Greenwich.  Activities begin on Thursday, with Training for Club Leaders (watch for additional information and separate registration coming soon).  That evening, Valley Rotarians will organize Home Hosting, a chance for delegates to get to know each other over a good meal in an intimate atmosphere.  The main Conference sessions take place on Friday and Saturday, and wrap up Sunday morning.

We have great keynote and break out speakers coming to the District Conference this year, including:
  • Rose Adams, speaking about personal growth and her concept of “Breathe”
  • Ron Denham, one of the leaders of the Water and Sanitation Action Group, WASRAG
  • Steve Brown, a senior member of the Rotary Foundation and the RI President’s Representative
  • Bryn Styles, a long serving Canadian representative with RI and the Rotary Foundation
  • PEI Green Party Leader and “The Happy Dentist”, Peter Bevan-Baker, MLA
In addition to terrific working sessions on Friday and Saturday, we will have Blues, Brews and Barbeque on Friday evening with The Mark Riley Project Band, and the District Governor’s Dinner on Saturday evening.  The Dinner will feature the award-winning Spinney Brothers Bluegrass Band.  For our Conference “Partners”, we will be arranging for daytime tours of some of the finest wine, dine and scenery spots in the Valley.  One of our Valley communities, Wolfville, has just been chosen by Expedia as one of 17 Canadian Cities to Visit in 2017.

The main Conference venue is the Old Orchard Inn, and they have set aside rooms to welcome as many registrants as possible.  See details on the Conference Website, under accommodations, or phone them at 1 800 561-8090 and mention the Rotary Conference.   Our special conference hotel rates are available by phone only.  We want to add a reminder to bring Silent Auction Items (send info to Frieda Burger), to be used to raise funds during the Conference for District Youth programming.

2017 District Conference Registration through the Conference Website is easy and convenient and we hope you will register as early as possible, to take advantage of the available sessions, accommodations and good Rotary times together.  If you have any questions, please contact Registrar Gord Hankin or Conference Coordinator Holly Thompson: conference.registration@outlook.com
