Update on Cameroon buses

Recently I sent an email to Rotarian Peter Akote in Cameroon to advise me on the status of our four Nova Scotia school buses which our District shipped in 2010.
I am pleased to report that all four are still gathering the school children at their homes, which are up to 9 kilometers away, and saving them the long trek every day.
Many of you have been sceptical on their ability to maintain and service these vehicles, which they have proven incorrect. The children of Cameroon should enjoy these buses for years to come.
Our participating district clubs have also supplied State approved school books and latrines with wash stations. District D7820 has become well know in D9150, not only with their rotarians and citizens, but also with their local goverment and our Canadian High Commision.
