Rotary Youth Exchange – Expression of Interest for Club Participation in the 2017-18 Exchange Year

Dear Rotarians of District 7820,
 
I am thrilled to introduce you to our Inbounders for 2016-17 from Districts 7820 and 7810.  This year, 7820 is hosting 8 students from Belgium, Germany, Argentina, Spain, Taiwan, and France, and has sponsored 8 students to go outbound to these same countries.  The photo is from the recent Inbounder Orientation that was held at Camp Gencheff in PEI.
 
We are fast approaching the time of year to begin information sessions and interviews to find outbound students for the 2017-18 exchange year.  Youth Exchange is an integral part of our fifth avenue of service – Youth, and one of Rotary’s strongest programs in support of peace, understanding and sharing.  DG Elva has talked to you about the potential and power of this fantastic programs during her club visits over the last several weeks.  Please discuss in your club if you are able to participate in this program for next year.  I am happy to answer any questions and to provide support to any clubs returning to YE, or new to YE.  We can also discuss creative ways in which clubs can combine effort and work together to participate in the program – please reach out to me if you have any interest in getting involved. 
 
As with so many of our initiatives, this is one where the returns well exceed the investment – to the students, host families and your club members.  This program was once core to our District and had involvement from a significant number of clubs and we are working very hard to support you in getting back there again.
