On December 3rd, the Interact Club of Riverview Rural High School celebrated 29 years of service both locally and internationally. Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Sydney, the club’s approximately 50 members weekly donate their time to assist a variety of community organizations and not for profit groups and events.
Each year the Interact Club also contributes towards an international project. This year Interact is helping the victims of Typhoon Haiyan which hit the Philippines earlier this month by making a financial contribution towards the purchase of a Shelter Box, which will be matched by the Rotary Club of Sydney. At this week’s regular meeting at Riverview, members of the Club’s executive presented a $500 cheque to Rotarian Bob Munroe for matching funds from Rotary.
