Rotary District 7815 would like to try to re-establish our Environment Committee, to continue the networking and joint project work, such as District EnviroClub Awards that have been coordinated by the Committee in recent years. We hope to call a Zoom meeting of interested Rotarians, from Clubs across our District, to discuss re-establishing a District7815 Environment Committee.

Just a few years ago, we had an active Rotary District 7815 Environment Committee, with about a dozen members, bringing Rotarians in the Atlantic region (Canada and St. Pierre and Miquelon) together with interested individuals and organizations, to learn about the environment and work toward positive environmental change.
The FaceBook Page created for that Committee still exists, with several hundred followers, although the Committee itself has not met for a while:
Improving environmental sustainability is the newest of Rotary International’s Areas of Focus, and it is a priority for many of our Clubs, working in the community on litter clean ups, restoring park and environmentally sensitive areas, and educating the broader community on the importance of stewardship and change to protect us all. Many clubs also have Rotarians who are active in District Grants and Global Grants which have a local and international focus on environmental issues, and a number of our members are in WASH – The Rotary Action Group providing concrete leadership on water and sanitation issues.
