Pedaling for Polio: The Tour de 7820 Donation Site Goes Live

The Rotary Ideas website helps clubs connect for funding, volunteers, partnerships, and in-kind donations. Where once they had to rely on Rotary to make this connection, clubs can now post their needs and find projects to support by themselves. Rotary Ideas emphasizes partnerships in addition to funding.

 

Financial donations made to a Rotary ideas project can now go directly to the Rotary International Foundation and Rotarians logging in through their MyRotary account will get full Paul Harris credits in addition to income tax receipts for Canadian donations.  All donations to the end Polio cause are also eligible for the 2:1 matching from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Canadian Government.

 

DG Jim and Ron Zwaagstra, President of the Rotary Club of Sackville & Area  have been working with Kristin Brown from Rotary International for the past year to make changes to the system that will allow financial donations to go directly to the Rotary Foundation. The Pedaling for Polio Tour de 7820 site was used as a test case and is the first Rotary Ideas site  to do this.   

 

Donations collected during DG Jim and Barbara's club visits have already been been sent to the Foundation and recognized on the Pedaling for Polio Site. More are being added.  Clubs and individuals are encouraged to make their own donations to Polio directly on the site.  Help us End Polio NOW.
