Promoting Peace, one of Rotary’s seven areas of focus, was woven throughout the recent Unite For Good Times District Conference in Shediac.
The Peace Forum brought together participants for learning, dialogue, and reflection on how Rotary’s commitment to peace can be translated into meaningful action within ourselves, our clubs, and our communities. The conference also featured the unveiling of Shediac’s Peace Pole and an inspiring keynote presentation on conflict resolution by Nabil Oudeh.

From Your District Peace Committee
Promoting Peace is the first of the seven areas of focus outlined on the RI website. The focus of Peace was interwoven throughout the recent District Conference, Unite For Good Times in Shediac. The Friday afternoon Peace Forum provided the 42 participants with learning, dialogue , and reflection on how Rotary’s commitment to peace can be translated into meaningful action within ourselves, our clubs and communities.
Following the Peace Forum was the unveiling of Shediac’s Peace Pole, highlighted by the Peace Run participants arriving with the Peace Torch.
The conference keynote speaker, Nabil Oudeh, gave a powerful presentation on Conflict Resolution. The simple, practical examples that he used provided tools to take home and use.
Highlighting peace as an integral part of our Rotary mission inspired meaningful conversations, strengthened connections and reminded us of the important role each of us can play in building more peaceful communities.
