The DG Selection Committee is pleased to announce the choice of Elva Heyge of the Rotary Club of Kentville as District Governor Nominee (Designate) for the 2016-2017 Rotary Year in accordance with our by-laws. Elva was chosen over two other very capable and impressive candidates for this position.

 
A Rotary member for 14 years, Elva is a Paul Harris Fellow and a sustaining member of TRF, was Assistant Governor of Southwest Nova Scotia for three years and District Grants Coordinator and is now District Foundation Chair, guiding our clubs through the new Rotary Foundation model. Throughout this time she has continued to effectively serve her club in several capacities.

Elva’s professional life includes 13 years as a Chemistry lecturer at McGill University and 15 years with the Federal Government as Public Administrator responsible real estate portfolios in NB, NS, and NL

Her hobbies include travel, which she has done extensively including several international Rotary projects and Friendship Exchanges. Her interest in community theatre has led her to the position of Vice-chair of the CentreStage Theatre in Kentville for the past 15 years.
