Council on Legislation 2016

Every three years, Rotarians meet at the Council on Legislation (COL) to review and vote on proposed legislation. The Council gives us a voice in how our organization is governed. District 7820 sends one representative to this meeting to represent members interests. This time our representative is PDG Duncan Conrad.Duncan has gone through all the resolutions and picked out some that may be of most interest to members in our district. They include discussion the following proposed legislation:
- To allow for flexibility in club meetings and attendance
- To allow for flexibility in membership and classification
- To increase per capita dues
- To provide that each club pays dues for a minimum of 10 members
- To authorize the RI Board to suspend or terminate a club for litigation-related actions and to amend the provisions for repeated election complaints from a district
- To add a fifth part to the Object of Rotary to include the development of service and leadership in youth
