Club Facebook Usage

Facebook is one of the three primary Social Media tools that Rotary Clubs find most useful to communicate their messages concerning the good works of Rotary, both internally to other Rotarians as well as to external audiences. 80% of Clubs in District 7820 have their own Facebook pages while 25% have Twitter accounts.The District Facebook page follows all the District club pages and regularly shares posts that are judged to be potentially of interest across the District. By integrating all of the Club pages, the District provides a one-stop-shop for people following Rotary Facebook communication in our area.
One of the priorities for District during the year is to increase the use of social media by Rotary Clubs and also increase the reach that the media has into the community.
The focus of the effort this year will be on Facebook using post boasts to increase the visibility for posts that clubs make that are shared with the District Facebook site. The objective is to increase the number of “likes” to the District site as well as the profile for the club activities and events within the target areas for the clubs. Increased engagement for clubs within their community will be an outcome.
Details for the initiative are available from the club executives or the District Social Media Committee or by downloading this document. Clubs are encouraged to increase their posts and Rotarians are asked to follow the District Facebook page to keep up on activities of other clubs.
