Bridging our Continent helps equip a school in Nepal

 From Halifax                                                                             To Calgary  

Following an article in the Globe and Mail featuring Samantha Terry alongside Bill Gates our friends in District 7820  had a whip around at their AG Training weekend to help support Samantha’s quest to equip a school in Nepal.

A member of Calgary West, Brent Barootes, just happened to be in Halifax so he received the proceeds which he then delivered to The Nepal Trek organizer, Karl Herzok, at Calgary West.

These funds will be used to buy computers, desks, pens and papers and other sundry school supplies to equip the school that is being partly funded by the Nepal Trekkers, see the District Web-site for full details.

It’s not too late to join these intrepid adventurers.

But why not follow the example of our Rotarian friends in Halifax, read the article and be inspired to have a whip around at your club and see what you can raise for this school in Nepal. Every dollar will educate the young Nepalese children and allow them to stay closer to home to build their community rather than leaving for the big city never to return.
