Join your Rotarian colleagues at the Old Orchard Inn this June for the 2017 District Conference.  As of mid-February, we have over 30 delegates registered (thank you everyone – this really helps the organizers) and the Inn has been busy taking accommodation requests.  Please make your plans now - Just go to the District 7820 Home Page and click on District Conference  or go directly to 7820conference.com

We will use the coming District Bulletins to preview the Keynote and other Speakers and events:  Let’s start with Rose Adams, a native of Nova Scotia who is a lawyer and Rotarian in Barrie Ontario.  She has been inspiring local, national and international audiences with her personal and professional stories of overcoming obstacles by taking responsibility and pursuing education and action.  She has been named a Premiers Award winner, one of Ontario’s Outstanding Women, and one of Barrie’s Top 20 Women.  Her BREATHE philosophy will inspire you, and you will have time to listen, time to discuss and time to chat with Rose first hand.

If you or your Club want to be involved with a water- related service project, this Conference is for you:  Ron Denham, Rotarian and formerly a Senior Partner with KPMG Management Consulting and Professor at York University, has experience with development projects all over the world.  Rotary International had a Water Resources Task Force, and Ron served as General Coordinator of that organization from 2004 to 2008.  When Rotary began to encourage Rotary Action Groups to link Rotarians around special interests, Ron was instrumental in creating WASRAG, the Water & Sanitation Rotary Action Group.  Ron served as WASRAG’s first Chair and has been involved in water and sanitation projects in Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Ghana and many states in India.  His current mission is to encourage every Rotary Club to become involved in projects to address the critical water and sanitation issues in developing countries.  Come to the Conference, meet Ron, and find out how to link your Club to these important projects, and how to ensure they produce concrete results for many years.

One more thing, thanks to our hard working Conference Registration Team:  Every Conference delegate MUST register. This includes all 2017-18 Presidents Elect & Secretaries Elect and all District members who are paid for by the District.  Clubs should also ensure that Youth Exchange, Interact or Rotaract members are registered.  And yes, every Rotarian or guest who is coming for a single day or meal should complete the on-line registration.   For accommodations, phone the Old Orchard Inn at 1 800 561-8090 and mention the Rotary Conference to get the Conference Rates.
