The Rotary Friendship Exchange program gives Rotarians and their families the opportunity to host and visit Rotarians around the world. In addition to experiencing other cultures and making lasting friendships, an exchange provides a strong foundation for carrying out other international activities and service projects.

There are three Friendship Exchange Groups visiting our district this fall which will give us the opportunity to make many new friends. We have tried to ensure that all areas of our district have the opportunity to participate in an exchange but no area is overwhelmed.  The table below shows where we anticipate our visitors to travel. A more detailed schedule will be available shortly.

We encourage you to support your club’s participation in making the visitors to your area welcome. It has been decided that our outbound teams to these districts will be selected firstly from the areas who have participated in the hosting and entertaining of our visitors. Should there be vacancies, a call will be made to the district as a whole.  A consideration for team selection will be the willingness to participate in the hosting and entertaining of our inbound visitors.

If you are interested in participating on one of the exchanges please complete the application form for our outbound teams. The deadline for applications to be received by PDG Tom McCaughey (dgtom7820@gmail.com) is 15th June 2017.   More information will be available at our district conference or by contacting PDG Tom at (709) 682-7259 or dgtom7820@gmail.com

We  also have requests for exchanges for 2018 from Australia and Oregon while we are still pursuing opportunities for South Africa and Singapore / Malaysia.

There are several exciting prospects ahead for our exchange program. We will keep you posted.
