Bob Moffat

Bob Moffatt was born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia where he attended Central and Morrison High School. He is a graduate of Carleton University and holds numerous Certificates in Law Enforcement Studies from Carleton University and the Canadian Police College, Ottawa, Ontario.
Bob was engaged with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police as a Constable on March 31st, 1964 and retired on July 11th, 1997 at the Commissioned Rank of Superintendent. He served in a number of Provinces across Canada where he was employed in General Investigations, Recruit Training, Crime Prevention, Training and Development, VIP/Royalty Protection and Officer Commanding Police Operations. He was awarded the Canada 125 Medal and the Queen’s Jubilee Medal during his law enforcement career. He is presently a self employed relocation sales associate with Century 21 Colonial Realty in Charlottetown.
His community service includes President of the Duke of Edinburgh Awards for PEI and National Director, Scouts Canada Deputy Commissioner Administration and Training, RCMP Veterans Association and Member St. Paul’s Anglican Church. He is an Honorary Aide-de-Camp to the present Lieutenant Governor of Prince Edward Island, The Honourable Frank Lewis and has served four previous Lieutenant Governors between 1988 and the present day.
Joining the Rotary Club of Charlottetown in 1998 Bob has served on various committees, Board Member, Club President 2007/08 and PHF 2007. He served as District Convention Chair in 2000 and the District Polio Plus Chair. He served as Assistant District Governor for the six PEI Clubs, Amherst and Springhill leading up to District Governor in 2011-2012. He is presently the Chair of the Audit and Awards Committee for District 7820. At his own Club Bob is the Chair of the 2017 Centennial Committee which will include all Island Clubs.
In his spare time Bob enjoys golf, cycling, swimming and spending quality time with his wife Karen travelling or at their summer home in Stanley Bridge. They have two adult children and two beautiful granddaughters.
